MIRA SEGAL
DMK stands for David-Mira-Klara, symbolizing these two majorly important people in her life, shielding and embracing her with their uninterrupted love and support.
Mira was born in a small town in Moldova, a republic in the Soviet Union, the kind of town that was called a shtetl, similar to the one you have seen in Fiddler on The Roof.
She was raised mainly by her grandmother who was a survivor of pogroms, the Great October Revolution and two world wars.
Her grandmother didn’t accept mediocracy in anything, so the demand on Mira’s performance in school and other activities was very strict.
Mira graduated from middle school with honors and entered a vocational school where she studied bank accounting. She returned home for two years, finished high school and went to Siberia to study in University to become a chemical engineer.
Mira completed her college degree in Leningrad College of Technology and worked as a chemical engineer for six years until 1980, when she with her family immigrated to the United States.
Mira prepared for her life in America by applying herself to learning English so the language barrier would not be an obstacle for her seeking employment in her field.
She was able to get a job as a chemical engineer after being in the country for only six months.
Mira worked for three different companies for a total of fifteen years. After they closed one by one and moved abroad, she decided to look for another occupation.
Life accidentally brought her to the insurance industry. Mira completed various courses and received her license to offer health, life, disability and other personal insurance. She also received all the credentials to become a financial planner. She started to work in this field in 1995.
Mira established her company, DMK PRO INC, in 2009. At this point her client base grew and she still retains the clients that she established a relationship with back in 1995.
Mira views her business as a means of helping people to find and retain the kind of insurance that gives them a sense of protection, the kind that makes them feel secure.
Mira has many hobbies including photography, creative cooking and bread baking. She loves sharing her bread with clients and friends to such a degree that she even included it in her logo.
